As at Fri 9 Oct 2026Nikhil Rao reported about forty accounts appearing twice in the Salesforce export after a sync on 4 Aug 2026. Bethan Lister identified the deduplication logic failure and asked the customer to check for schema changes on their side.
Problem: Deduplication logic failed during 08:50 sync on 4 Aug 2026, creating duplicate indexed records from the same source IDs. Handling: Bethan confirmed the duplicate count and investigated whether a schema change in Salesforce had triggered the connector to reprocess records as new entries. Watch: Data quality issue recurring on same customer account; underlying sync and deduplication robustness needs review after previous duplicate issue in January.

- Public reply · Nikhil Rao 4 Aug 2026 09:01Just flagged this - sync ran through at 08:50 and the duplicates appeared right after. Same ID repeated, matching timestamps. This is a full re-index that didn't merge against the existing records properly.
- Public reply · Bethan Lister 4 Aug 2026 13:13Thanks for raising this, Nikhil. Just so I've got this right: we're looking at forty accounts appearing twice each in the current export? Are the IDs completely identical or is there any variation between the copies?
- created · Nikhil Rao 4 Aug 2026 14:22Got duplicate records appearing in the Salesforce export since this morning's sync. About forty accounts are indexed twice with the same customer IDs. Data is otherwise clean but duplication breaks reporting. I checked the load history - both sync runs completed cleanly. De-duplication logic on refresh isn't working. Need this resolved quickly.
- Public reply · Bethan Lister 4 Aug 2026 22:22I've been looking at the logs. Can you check whether there was a schema change in your Salesforce export overnight - new field added, column renamed, permissions changed, anything like that? That can trigger the connector to reprocess records as new ones. Let me know what you find and I can walk you through a reset. Cheers, Bethan
