What this says
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026On the 12 Jul 2024 QBR, usage was up to a little under seven of twenty-five licensed users. Harjit Bains backed the product. Elaine Turvey, the Finance Director, wants the usage case again before the 30 Aug 2024 renewal at £23k a year.
What happened: Marcus Bell ran the 12 Jul 2024 QBR. Active use is a little under seven of twenty-five licensed users, up on the previous quarter, with newer account managers now asking questions.
Customer view: Harjit Bains would take the case to the board and says the team would notice if it went away. Elaine Turvey is content on data sources but will look at the figures herself.
Commercial: Tom Ashdown flagged that the contract runs to 29 Aug 2024 and renews on 30 Aug 2024 at £23k a year, all paid up. Terms will follow in writing.
Watch: Elaine said there is not much headroom on cost and asked not to rush. The renewal turns on the usage page Marcus promised.

Transcript
- Marcus BellMorning, everyone. Give me a moment and I'll share my screen. Is that coming through?
- Harjit BainsYes, I can see it. Morning, Marcus. Morning, all.
- Sukhvinder DhillonMorning. Apologies, I'm on a slightly dodgy connection, so if I freeze, just carry on.
- Tom AshdownNo bother at all. Lovely to see you all. Elaine, how are things? Has the heat reached the Midlands?
- Elaine TurveyGood morning, Tom. A little. We have the fans on in the office. Before we begin, may I ask where adoption has got to? That is what I always want to know first.
- Marcus BellGood, because that's the first thing I wanted to show. I've pulled the numbers. You've got twenty-five licensed users. Active in a typical month is a little under seven people, and that's up a fair bit on the last quarter. So the direction is good.
- Elaine TurveyThat is encouraging. Who is actually using it?
- Harjit BainsMostly my team, Elaine. And it's more than it was. A couple of the newer account managers have started asking it things before client meetings, rather than coming to me or digging through the scheme records themselves.
- Marcus BellThat fits what I'm seeing. More questions from a wider group, rather than one or two people doing all of it.
- Harjit BainsI have the trustee meeting coming up, actually, so it's all quite fresh for me. What will the trustees ask? Usually it's member queries and whether we answered on time. So I've been using it to check the position before I walk in.
- Tom AshdownThat's music to my ears, Harjit. No surprises for the client, as you'd say.
- Harjit BainsExactly. That is the whole point.
- Marcus BellOn support, quieter. A couple of tickets in the last month, and none of them high priority. Mostly how-to type questions. Sukhvinder, you raised one of them, didn't you?
- Sukhvinder DhillonI did, yes. It was about a search I couldn't get to behave. It was sorted quite quickly. I think I was doing it the wrong way round, to be honest.
- Marcus BellHappens to everyone. I can take you through it again if it'd help, there's a quicker way of filtering by scheme.
- Sukhvinder DhillonThat would be useful, thanks. And while I have you, the nightly refresh. I've noticed it has been landing in time every morning. I just wanted to say that, since normally I only hear from you when something's wrong.
- Marcus BellThanks, that's kind of you to say. I'll pass it on.
- Elaine TurveyMay I ask, Sukhvinder, are the data sources all in order? I am conscious we do not have much headroom on cost.
- Sukhvinder DhillonAs far as I know, yes. Everything we put in at the start is still loading. I'm not planning any changes to our systems this quarter.
- Elaine TurveyGood. Then there is nothing that worries me.
- Tom AshdownCan I just flag the renewal, so nobody's caught out? The contract runs to 29 Aug 2024 and renews on 30 Aug 2024. It's £23,000 a year at the moment and it's all paid up, nothing overdue. I'll write to you with the terms, Elaine, I don't want to quote anything off the top of my head.
- Elaine TurveyThank you, Tom. I will want to see the usage case again nearer the time. Let's not rush.
- Harjit BainsAnd, Elaine, for what it's worth, I'd be very comfortable going to the board with this. The team would notice if it went away. I wouldn't say that otherwise.
- Elaine TurveyI appreciate that, Harjit. That is helpful. I will still look at the figures, as you know.
- Harjit BainsOf course. I'd expect nothing less.
- Marcus BellThat's fair on all sides. What I'd suggest is I put together a short usage page for you before the renewal, Elaine, same as I do for the QBR, with who's using it and what's changed. Then there's something to hold up.
- Elaine TurveyThat would be very welcome.
- Tom AshdownAnd one for the diary. Marcus, can you and Harjit sit down before her trustee meeting and run through anything she wants to have ready? Only if it's useful.
- Harjit BainsI'd like that very much. Perhaps early next week.
- Marcus BellShall we book half an hour? I'll send something over this afternoon.
- Harjit BainsYes, please do.
- Marcus BellRight. To recap, then. I'll send the usage page and the notes from today. I'll show Sukhvinder the scheme filter. Tom sends renewal terms in writing, and I'll get half an hour in with Harjit before the trustees.
- Elaine TurveyThank you, everyone. That was a good use of the time.
- Tom AshdownCheers, all. Speak soon.
- Sukhvinder DhillonThanks. Goodbye.
