What this says
Current to 14 Oct 26Nell Ashcombe approached Douglas Baird about what has not worked since the brain was switched off. Douglas offered an account of member query and trustee call problems, with no promise for the group. A Thursday call was set.
Ask: Nell asked for thirty minutes to hear what worked, what did not, and what would make it worth looking again.
Customer view: Douglas will talk and describe where member queries and trustee calls were harder than expected over the summer, but will promise nothing on the group's behalf.
Next: Nell chose Thursday afternoon, will send an invitation and asked whether Daniel should join.

- Nell Ashcombe 2 Oct 2026 09:30Douglas, Daniel mentioned that you got back in touch with him last month. Thank you for that. I would like to pick it up with you myself. I don't want to sell you anything in this email. I would like to hear what has and hasn't worked since the brain was switched off, and what you would need to see before it made sense to look at it again. Then we can say plainly whether it is worth either of us spending more time on. Could we find thirty minutes in the next week or so? Whatever suits you. Best, Nell
- Douglas Baird 5 Oct 2026 11:19Dear Nell, Thank you for your note, which I was glad to receive. I hope you are well. In fairness to Daniel, he has been very patient and has not pressed me, and I appreciate that. I would welcome a conversation with you, though I should say that I am not in a position to make any promise on the group's behalf, and I would not wish to hurry a decision of this kind. What I can offer is an honest account of where member queries and trustee calls have been harder than we expected over the summer, and what we would want from a single view of them. If that is useful to you, I am content to talk. Thursday afternoon or Friday morning this week would suit me. Kind regards, Douglas Baird
- Nell Ashcombe 6 Oct 2026 10:38Douglas, That's helpful, and I understand about the group. No commitment needed from you. An honest account is exactly what I'm after. Let's go with Thursday afternoon. I'll send an invitation shortly, and Daniel will join if you are happy for him to. Tell me if you'd rather it was just the two of us. Best, Nell
