- created · Holly Tranter 29 Oct 2025 08:42Hi, Quick question about building a dashboard. We have a lot of contractor invoices coming through, and the directors want to see a dashboard showing monthly volumes and total spend by contractor. I'm not sure where to start with the dashboard builder: is there a template I can use, or a walkthrough? Thanks, Holly

You'll want to create a new dashboard, then add cards for contractor count (maybe grouped by contractor name) and spend (summed by month). Are you familiar with how to query the data in the brain, or would you like a step-by-step? Let me know and I can walk you through it. Thanks, Bethan

- public_reply · Bethan Lister 31 Oct 2025 11:51Hi Holly, Great questions. Yes, you can save your work and come back to it anytime, just hit 'Save' and you're good. For the query builder, the key is the 'Group by' dropdown: that's where you set contractor, and the 'Aggregate' dropdown lets you sum the spend. Walk through the invoice fields and you'll see options for contractor name, invoice date, and amount. Try grouping by contractor and aggregating amount as a sum. That should get you the breakdown you're after. Have a play and let me know if you get stuck. Thanks, Bethan
