What this says
Current to 13 Oct 26About a dozen frequently-used trade accounts appear duplicated with different data in each record. Root cause is different branches recording account details differently in source data.
Problem: Duplicate account records are breaking the branch reconciliation process. The issue is specific to frequently-used accounts, not system-wide. Root cause: different branches record the same account with different details in their source system, and the brain indexes both versions separately. Handling: First response 489 minutes. Bethan worked with Deepa to identify the scope and requested account IDs and specific differences. The customer identified this as a source data quality issue, not a brain mapping problem. Watch: This highlights that data quality issues in the customer's processes require source-level fixes; the brain can only reflect what the source systems contain.

This is happening across several of our key accounts and breaking our branch reconciliation process. Can you help us track down where this is coming from?
- public_reply · Bethan Lister 5 Sep 2026 00:54Hi Deepa, I've picked this up. Just so I've got this right: you're seeing duplicate records for the same trade account, each with different information. Is this happening with specific accounts or all of them? Can you share a couple of examples of which accounts are duplicating and what the differences are? That'll help me trace where the duplication is coming from. Thanks, Bethan
- public_reply · Deepa Chauhan 5 Sep 2026 12:24Hi Bethan, Right, yes - it's specific accounts that we use frequently, maybe a dozen or so. The issue is in our branch data: different branches are recording the account details differently, and it's coming through to the brain as duplicates. I'm getting our data team to pull together the account IDs and the differences they're seeing. They'll send those over to you.
- public_reply · Bethan Lister 5 Sep 2026 12:24Perfect, thanks. Once I have that detail, I can work out whether it's a data mapping issue on our side or something we need to fix at the source.
