What this says
Current to 11 Oct 26After the demo, Dan Hosken asks what happens to the nightly refresh when a source is down and who sets up connectors. Kerensa Trelease says fresh excursion data matters most and wants a second session.
Ask: Dan wants to know whether excursion tickets would be stale if a source is down overnight, and what he would take on as the only person looking after systems. Tobias Renwick was asked to answer the refresh question.
Customer view: Kerensa says a day-old excursion record would put them back where they started. She wants a second session with Wes Jago and an account manager once Tobias replies.
Next: The refresh answer is the gating item. The thread does not show Tobias's reply.

I've copied Tobias, our CTO, because a few of you asked how the data is handled. The short version is that the brain is built and run inside your own Snowflake account, so your data stays under your controls. Tobias can go into the detail. Dan, if you can send over a list of the systems you'd want connected first, we can check it against what the Growth tier covers. Wes, tell me if there's a pharmaceutical client review you'd like us to try it on. Cheers, Tom
- Dan Hosken 15 Sep 2023 09:28Hi Tom, Thanks for the demo. Two questions from my side. First, how does the nightly refresh behave if a source system is down overnight? Our excursion tickets are the thing people look at first thing, so I need to know whether they would be stale. Second, who would have access to set up and change the connectors? I'm the only person here who looks after our systems day to day, so I'd want to understand what I'd be taking on. Regards, Dan
- Tom Ashdown 18 Sep 2023 08:34Morning all, Thanks, Dan. Good questions, and I'd rather Tobias answers the first one properly than me guess at it. Tobias, could you reply to the group on what happens to the refresh when a source is unavailable overnight? On the second, you'd be the admin on your side and we'd do the initial connector set-up with you during implementation, so you're not left to it on day one. I'll confirm the exact split of who does what in the proposal. Cheers, Tom
- Kerensa Trelease 18 Sep 2023 10:27Tom, Good. Dan's point about the overnight refresh matters most to me. If an account manager opens a client and the excursion data is a day old, we're back where we started. Tell the client first, and we can only do that with fresh facts. Once Tobias has answered, let's get something in the diary for a second session with Wes and one of the account managers, so they can try it on a real client review. Cheers, Kerensa
