Tracy Bullock and Mervyn Hales described manual pipeline checking and missed follow-ups. Nell Ashcombe pitched Starter at £26k all in and agreed a demo in early January. No decision was made.

What happened: Nell Ashcombe ran discovery with Pershore Lane Recruitment's Operations Manager and Managing Director. They check the ATS by hand several times a day.

Customer view: Mervyn said "And we're missing things." Tracy called the price "reasonable" and asked when work could start.

Commercial: Four or five users would benefit, so Starter's 15-user limit leaves ample headroom. The quoted £26k covers implementation and the first year.

Watch: Nothing was signed. The demo on their ATS depends on the technical questionnaire being returned, and the evidence does not show their ATS or whether it can be connected.

Hi Tracy, hi Mervyn. How are you both?
  2. Tracy Bullock
    Tracy Bullock
Good, thanks. We're excited to hear what you've got.
  3. Mervyn Hales
    Mervyn Hales
Yeah, we've been trying to figure out our candidate pipeline better.
  4. Nell Ashcombe

Tell me what a normal week looks like for you.

So we're managing candidates in our ATS, emails are everywhere, calls with clients are in recordings if we're using the recorder. Mervyn and I need to know: which candidates are in final-stage conversations, which clients are waiting on feedback, what's the pipeline. Right now we're manually checking the ATS a few times a day and asking each other.
  6. Mervyn Hales
    Mervyn Hales
And we're missing things. We'll have a candidate who interviews with three clients and we don't know they've already got an offer from the first one. Or a client's been waiting two weeks for feedback and we've forgotten.
  7. Nell Ashcombe
    Nell Ashcombe
How many people would benefit from seeing that pipeline clearly?
  8. Tracy Bullock
    Tracy Bullock
Really, it's maybe four or five of us. Me, Mervyn, and a few of the consultants who manage placements.
  9. Nell Ashcombe

We built something called the brain: it connects your ATS, emails, call recordings, everything. You ask it a question in plain English...'Which candidates are in final stages?', and it answers. No manual checking, everything up to date.
  10. Mervyn Hales
    Mervyn Hales
    That sounds useful. What's involved?
  11. Nell Ashcombe
    Nell Ashcombe
Implementation is four weeks. You give us access to your systems and one or two named people, sounds like Tracy, and we build and test it with you. After that, annual subscription, unlimited questions, search, simple reports if you want.
  12. Tracy Bullock
    Tracy Bullock
How many people can use it?
  13. Nell Ashcombe
    Nell Ashcombe
You're Starter tier, up to fifteen users. For a team your size, that's plenty.
  14. Mervyn Hales
    Mervyn Hales
    What does it cost?
  15. Nell Ashcombe
    Nell Ashcombe
£25,500 all in. That's implementation and the first year. Then it renews annually. For a team spending time on manual checks every day, it tends to pay for itself pretty quickly.
  16. Tracy Bullock
    Tracy Bullock
That's reasonable. If we wanted to do this, when could you start?
  17. Nell Ashcombe
    Nell Ashcombe
Once we've signed an order form, we'd kick off in early January, you'd be live by early March.
  18. Mervyn Hales
    Mervyn Hales
And we can ask it anything?
  19. Nell Ashcombe
    Nell Ashcombe
Basically anything about your candidates, placements, client interactions: anything in your ATS, email or calls. You learn pretty quickly what's useful.
  20. Tracy Bullock
    Tracy Bullock
    OK. What's next?
  21. Nell Ashcombe
    Nell Ashcombe
I'd like to come back with a demo. I'll connect to your ATS and show you the brain working on your actual data. Much clearer than me talking. Can you both do early January?
  22. Tracy Bullock
    Tracy Bullock
Yeah, we can make that work.
  23. Nell Ashcombe
    Nell Ashcombe
Brilliant. I'll send you a one-pager on Starter and a short technical questionnaire for whoever manages your ATS. Once I've got answers, I can set up the demo with realistic data.
  24. Mervyn Hales
    Mervyn Hales
    Sounds good.
  25. Nell Ashcombe
    Nell Ashcombe
Great. I'll get that to you this week and we'll schedule the demo. Cheers.
