What this says
Current to 14 Oct 26Laura trained Els and Jens on chat and search after go-live. She noted few queries so far. Els asked when renewing or upgrading comes up; Laura gave the contract end of 6 Mar 2027 and offered Growth when ready.
What happened: Laura ran a training session on chat, search, refresh timing and support for a customer a few weeks live. She said she had not seen many queries from them yet.
Customer view: Els said "We've had it running for a few weeks now but we're still getting to grips with it." She said Slack might be added next quarter, and that email and accounting feel right for now.
Commercial: Els asked about renewing or upgrading. Laura said the contract runs until 6 Mar 2027 and described Growth dashboards as the step above Starter.
Watch: Low questions asked early is the main value risk. This call named email and accounting as connectors, while the earlier onboarding call named Salesforce and email.

Next steps
Current to 9 Oct 26- Laura sends a summary and tutorial links to Els and Jens.
- Laura confirms which connectors are live and agrees a plan to raise question volume before the six-monthly check-in.
Risks
Current to 9 Oct 26- Few queries so far, and the questions asked are the best single measure of value.
- The connector set named on this call (email and accounting) differs from the Salesforce and email named at onboarding, so the live sources need confirming.
Opportunities
Current to 9 Oct 26- Els asked about upgrading, and Growth adds the dashboards builder and quarterly QBRs.
- Slack may be added next quarter, within the four connectors Starter includes.
Transcript
- Laura Penhaligon NoneGood morning, Els and Jens. Thanks for making the time. We've got about an hour together, and I want to walk through how to get the most out of the brain now that it's live in your Snowflake environment.
- Els Van Damme NoneGreat. We've had it running for a few weeks now but we're still getting to grips with it.
- Laura Penhaligon NoneTotally normal. The first month is about understanding what's possible. Let me start with the connectors you've got set up. Jens, you configured those, right?
- Jens Maes NoneYeah, that's right. Email and the accounting system. They're both loading okay, as far as I can tell.
- Laura Penhaligon NonePerfect. So those data streams are flowing in. One thing to watch: if a connector stops loading records, that usually means something changed on the source system: a password reset, an API key expiring, that sort of thing. But we can monitor that together. Now, the main way people interact with the brain is through chat. You can ask questions in natural language.
- Els Van Damme NoneRight. Like, I could ask it to show me all client queries from a particular month?
- Laura Penhaligon NoneExactly. 'Show me queries from January' or 'what was the highest invoice amount last quarter?', it'll search across your email and your accounting records and give you an answer. Let me show you. I'm going to share my screen and walk through a few example queries.
- Jens Maes NoneAnd it's searching in real time, or is it indexed?
- Laura Penhaligon NoneIt's indexed. So every night we refresh the data, usually complete by 07:00 in the morning on business days. That means what you see in the brain is current as of last night, not real-time. It's important to keep that in mind if you're making decisions based on what you see.
- Els Van Damme NoneThat makes sense.
- Laura Penhaligon NoneOkay, so here's the chat interface. You can ask a free-text question. Let me run through an example. Say I want to find all clients with outstanding fees. I'd type that in and the brain will search your data and come back with a summary. The results are links, so you can click through to the source record if you need more detail.
- Jens Maes NoneAnd how many of these queries can you run?
- Laura Penhaligon NoneYou can ask as many as you want. There's no limit. Usage-wise, I haven't seen a lot of queries from you yet, which is totally fine, you're still ramping up, but as your team gets more familiar with asking questions, the usage will grow.
- Els Van Damme NoneOkay. What about the dashboard side? I saw there was something about building dashboards.
- Laura Penhaligon NoneThat's on the Growth tier and above. You're on Starter at the moment, so you get chat and search. Growth adds a dashboards builder where you can create visual reports: charts, tables, metrics, and share them across your team. But let's focus on making sure chat is working well for you first.
- Jens Maes NoneFair enough. Are there any connectors we should add?
- Laura Penhaligon NoneYour Starter plan includes up to four connectors. You've got a couple live now, so you've got room for more if there are other data sources you'd like to plug in. CRM, HR data, Slack messages, anything that matters to your clients.
- Els Van Damme NoneWe might look at adding Slack in the next quarter. For now, email and accounting feels right.
- Laura Penhaligon NonePerfect. And if you do want to add anything, just let me know and we can get that configured for you. One more important thing: support. You're on Starter, so you get standard support during business hours. If something breaks or you have a question, submit a ticket through the portal and we aim to get back to you within four business hours.
- Jens Maes NoneHow does that work in practice? Do we get assigned to someone?
- Laura Penhaligon NoneYou'll get a ticket number and a response from the team. On Growth and Enterprise, you get dedicated support from a named engineer, but on Starter it's a shared team. We're pretty quick though. Any questions so far?
- Els Van Damme NoneI think we're good. When do we talk about renewing or upgrading?
- Laura Penhaligon NoneYour contract runs until 6 Mar 2027, so you've got plenty of time. We'll do a proper check-in every six months, and if you want to talk about Growth or anything else before then, just reach out. For now, I'd encourage you to spend the next few weeks really exploring what the brain can do with the data you've got.
- Jens Maes NoneSounds good.
- Laura Penhaligon NoneGreat. Any other questions before we wrap?
- Els Van Damme NoneI think that's everything. Thanks, Laura.
- Laura Penhaligon NonePerfect. I'll send you both a summary of what we covered and a couple of tutorial links. Speak soon.
