What this says
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026Training call on 23 Mar 2026 for Saltia's team. Jacinta Hoad wants one view of each store instead of three systems. She was positive and logins were promised the same day.
What happened: Laura Penhaligon ran a 62-minute training session on the brain for Saltia's team. She showed the store view, saved searches, the nightly refresh and how to raise tickets.
Customer view: Jacinta said the store data currently comes from three different systems and is "a nightmare". She found the dashboard cleaner than she expected and said the team would be happy.
Commercial: Saltia is on Starter, with 15 users included and dashboards built by BG-Demo. Any request for self-built dashboards or more users would point to Growth.
Watch: Jacinta asked whether anything fails to refresh. Laura said data is complete by 07:00 and changes after that wait until the next morning, so freshness expectations are set.

- Laura PenhaligonHi Jacinta. Thanks for having everyone on. Are we all set to go?
- Jacinta HoadYeah, everyone's here. We're ready to learn.
- Laura PenhaligonBrilliant. So today's about getting everyone comfortable with the brain, and I want to make sure this is useful for your team. Before we dive in, let me ask, what kinds of questions do you most want to be able to answer quickly?
- Jacinta HoadGood question. The big one is store accounts, we want to see all the activity for a store in one place. At the moment, we're pulling information from three different systems, and it's a nightmare.
- Laura PenhaligonThat's exactly what the brain does. So let me walk through it. You can see all the data for one store: their account status, recent orders, any open support tickets, delivery status, everything, in one view. No jumping between systems. Let me show you the dashboard. This is what you'll see when you log in.
- Jacinta HoadOh, that's much cleaner than I expected.
- Laura PenhaligonRight? And you can ask questions about anything in here. So if you want to know 'which stores have overdue orders', you just type that in the search, and you get a list. The brain does the work of joining the data from both systems. Let me show you an example. I'll ask it 'show me stores with orders over the past week'.
- Jacinta HoadAnd that just... comes back?
- Laura PenhaligonJust like that. Less than a second. And once you've asked a question, you can save it. So your team doesn't have to remember how to build the query, they just run the saved search.
- Jacinta HoadI can see how that would speed things up. How often does the data update?
- Laura PenhaligonEvery night. Everything's refreshed by 07:00 your time, so you've always got data from the previous day. That means any new orders, any status changes, any new support requests, they're all in the brain by the time you come in.
- Jacinta HoadIs there anything that doesn't refresh?
- Laura PenhaligonNo, it all does. The only thing to be aware of is that we refresh at night, so if something changes at, say, 18:00, it won't be in the brain until the next morning. But for most questions, that's fine.
- Jacinta HoadThat makes sense. What about the dashboards? Can we build our own?
- Laura PenhaligonWith Starter, the dashboards are what we build for you. So I've set up a few to show store summaries, recent activity, that sort of thing. But once you're live, if you want different ones, you just let me know or your CSM, and we can build them.
- Jacinta HoadOK. And if someone in the team wants to ask a question about something we haven't covered, do they just email you?
- Laura PenhaligonYou can do, or there's a support portal. If you hit 'help' in the interface, there's a ticket button. Just describe what you need, and it goes straight to our support team. For Starter, we aim to respond to P1 issues in four business hours.
- Jacinta HoadGot it. And what counts as P1?
- Laura PenhaligonIf something's broken or you can't access the brain, that's P1. If it's a question about how to use a feature, that's usually P2 and we'll get to it within a day or two.
- Jacinta HoadThat's fair. I think the team will be happy with this. When will everyone get access?
- Laura PenhaligonToday or tomorrow, actually. I'll send you login details once we've finished this call. You've got 15 users included with your subscription, so everyone on the team can have an account. I'd suggest sending them a quick email letting them know it's ready, and maybe point them to the recording of this session in case they want to catch up.
- Jacinta HoadPerfect. Any last tips?
- Laura PenhaligonJust start using it. The best way to get comfortable is to ask some real questions about your business. And if anything doesn't work as expected, let us know. We want to make sure you're getting value out of it.
- Jacinta HoadWill do. Thanks Laura, this has been really helpful.
- Laura PenhaligonCheers Jacinta. I'll send those logins over. Speak soon.
