What this says
Current to 13 Oct 26Proposal call on 6 Aug 2024: Charlotte Haigh weighed a £26k Starter package, asked for a discount on the first year and said she would consult Jonathan. Tom Ashdown is to return with a revised number by Friday.
What happened: Tom Ashdown walked Charlotte Haigh through a Starter proposal of £26k, made up of £20k for the annual subscription and £6,000 for implementation. Charlotte asked for something off the first year.
Customer view: She needs to take the discount question to Jonathan before deciding, and asked whether legal must review the order form. Tom said most small businesses just sign it.
Commercial: Tom offered to take the request to his manager and return with a revised number by Friday. Growth (40 users) was raised as a route if the team outgrows 15 users, to be handled at renewal.
Watch: Tom said the term renews every January and also that it runs through to next August. The evidence does not show which date the order form holds.

Transcript
- Tom Ashdown NoneHi Charlotte. I'm sending over the proposal now. Have you had a chance to look at it yet?
- Charlotte Haigh NoneJust opened it. So the total is £25,500 for everything?
- Tom Ashdown NoneThat's right. Nineteen and a half thousand for the annual subscription, and six thousand for the implementation. Four weeks to get you live, and then it renews every January.
- Charlotte Haigh NoneAnd the implementation, that's everything? Setup, training, getting our data in?
- Tom Ashdown NoneAll of it. We build the connectors, run through your team, make sure everyone's confident. Four weeks from you saying yes.
- Charlotte Haigh NoneOkay. And if we wanted to add more users later, more than 15?
- Tom Ashdown NoneYou can. Starter's soft-capped at 15, so you could grow beyond that, but if you're thinking you'll go significantly bigger, more teams, more users, we'd look at Growth. That's 40 users, more connectors, more features. But we'd handle that at renewal.
- Charlotte Haigh NoneIs there anything you could shift on the price?
- Tom Ashdown NoneI can check with my manager. What sort of number are you thinking?
- Charlotte Haigh NoneWe were hoping for a bit off the first year. Just to get us started.
- Tom Ashdown NoneFair enough. Let me take that back and see what I can do. I'll get back to you by end of the week with a revised number.
- Charlotte Haigh NoneThanks. What's the contract, a year?
- Tom Ashdown NoneTwelve-month term. It'll run through to next August, then it renews. Standard terms, we've got an order form that lays it all out. You'll sign that and we're off.
- Charlotte Haigh NoneDo we need legal to look at it?
- Tom Ashdown NoneIt's a pretty standard agreement. Most small businesses just sign it. But if you want your legal team to look, that's fine, just let me know and I'll send it over earlier. No drama.
- Charlotte Haigh NoneOkay. And you mentioned a CSM, who's that?
- Tom Ashdown NoneYeah, Marcus. He'll own the implementation, stay with you through the four weeks, then he'll do a quarterly check-in to make sure you're getting value. If you need anything, he's your first call.
- Charlotte Haigh NoneThat's good. So we've got him and you to lean on?
- Tom Ashdown NoneExactly. I'll be here for any commercial questions, he'll own the relationship day-to-day. You're in good hands.
- Charlotte Haigh NoneOkay. So what's the timeline for us to decide?
- Tom Ashdown NoneNo rush, but the sooner the better. If you're ready to sign in the next week or two, we can kick off straight away and have you live in early September. If it takes longer, we'll work around your schedule.
- Charlotte Haigh NoneLet me talk to Jonathan and I'll get back to you once I hear back on the discount.
- Tom Ashdown NoneGood plan. I'll have that revised proposal for you by Friday. Once you give it the thumbs up, we'll get the order form ready and get you set up.
- Charlotte Haigh NonePerfect. Cheers, Tom.
- Tom Ashdown NoneCheers, Charlotte. Speak soon.
