What this says
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026Discovery call: consultants juggle three systems before client calls. Starter is the fit. Cian O'Leary wants a conversation on terms before signing. Decision date given as Thu 4 Sep 2025. Draft total £25k including implementation.
What happened: Lewis Kerr confirmed Starter for the consultants and a decision date of Thu 4 Sep 2025. Deirdre Barry described consultants clicking between the recruitment system, the accounting system and inboxes before calls.
Customer view: Cian O'Leary asked what is in it for the consultants and said the decision depends on the number. He wants food science growth in Munster handled without hiring an admin.
Commercial: Lewis quoted a draft Starter total of £25k exclusive of VAT, including the one-off implementation, and said it is not an annual price. Cian asked if there is room on it and will not sign without a conversation about terms.
Watch: Four connectors is a hard limit and the four sources named fit exactly. Data residency inside the customer's own Snowflake account was raised, and Aisling Kiely is expected to ask the technical questions.

Opportunities
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026- Food science growth in Munster could add clients and roles, and with them usage that may justify a higher tier later.

Transcript
- Lewis KerrHello, hi both. Can you hear me alright?
- Deirdre BarryGrand, loud and clear. Cian's just getting himself sorted, he'll be on in a second.
- Cian O'LearyLewis, howya. Sorry, was on the phone to a client. Did you catch the hurling at the weekend?
- Lewis KerrI'll be honest, I'm more of a rugby man, but I heard it was a good one.
- Cian O'LearyAh, you'd want to come over to Cork for a proper one. Anyway. Go on, give me the headline of what we're doing here.
- Deirdre BarryQuick one before you do, Lewis. One of the consultants asked me this morning, can she see a client's open roles and their invoices on the one screen? Because right now she's opening three things.
- Lewis KerrThat's more or less exactly why we're here, so it's a good place to start. Let me confirm what I've got first, though. You're looking at the Starter tier for the consultants, and the date I have for a decision is Thursday 4 September 2025. Is that still right?
- Cian O'LearyThat's the plan. Depends on the number, mind.
- Lewis KerrUnderstood, we'll get to the number. Can I ask you both to walk me through how a consultant prepares for a call with a client today? Deirdre, maybe you first.
- Deirdre BarrySo, the roles and the placements live in the recruitment system. The invoices are in the accounting system, and that's a different login. And then half of what was actually agreed with the client is sitting in somebody's inbox. So before a call they're clicking round, and honestly some of them just don't bother.
- Lewis KerrAnd when they don't bother, what happens on the call?
- Deirdre BarryThey ask the client something we should already know. Or they don't realise an invoice is overdue and they're pitching a new role to someone who owes us money.
- Cian O'LearyWhich is embarrassing. And it costs us. What's in it for the consultants, that's what I want to know. Do they actually get more fees out of it?
- Lewis KerrI wouldn't promise you fees, Cian, I don't know your numbers. What I can say is the consultants stop reconciling by hand, and they walk into a call knowing the roles, the placements and the invoice position together. What that's worth is for you to judge once you've seen it on your own data.
- Cian O'LearyFair enough. I like that you didn't say yes straight away.
- Deirdre BarryCan I ask about the new sectors, Cian? Because we've been talking about food science growing.
- Cian O'LearyYeah, so we do pharma and medical devices mostly, and food science is the one I want to push in Munster. More clients, more roles, more mess. If the system copes with that without me hiring an admin, great.
- Lewis KerrThat's a fair test. Starter is built for one team, so the consultants would be that team. If you grew into a second or third team, we'd look at a different tier then, but I wouldn't suggest that now. Your usage should lead that conversation, not me.
- Deirdre BarryGrand. And the connectors, how many sources can we plug in? I'm thinking recruitment system, accounting, email, and the calendar.
- Lewis KerrStarter has four connectors, and that's a hard limit, so those four would fit. Users are fifteen, which is a soft limit. How many consultants are we talking about?
- Deirdre BarryUnder that. A handful over, if you count me and Aisling.
- Lewis KerrAisling being your recruitment systems coordinator, yes? She'd be the one looking after the connectors?
- Deirdre BarryShe is. She knows where all the bodies are buried in the recruitment system. I'd bring her to the demo.
- Lewis KerrPlease do. I'll bring our solutions engineer, Anya, and we'll set it up on your own data so it's not a canned example.
- Cian O'LearyRight. What's that cost? Headline.
- Lewis KerrTo put a number on it, the Starter deal is currently at £24,525 in total, exclusive of VAT. That is the whole figure including the one-off implementation, so please don't read it as an annual price. I'm reading from the draft, not memory, and I'll confirm the breakdown in writing.
- Cian O'LearyAnd is there room on that? You know I'm not signing without a conversation about it.
- Lewis KerrI know, Deirdre warned me. Let's see the demo first and settle the scope, then we talk properly about terms.
- Cian O'LearyGood man. That's the right order.
- Deirdre BarryOne more from me, and it might be a daft one. Where does the data actually sit? Is it going off to some other company's servers?
- Lewis KerrNot daft at all. It's built and run inside your own Snowflake account, so it stays with you. Anya can go into more detail on the demo, she's better placed than me on the technical side.
- Deirdre BarryGrand. I'll be honest, that's beyond me, so I'll get Aisling to ask the proper questions.
- Lewis KerrPerfect. So next steps. I'll send a short summary today, and I'll keep it short, Cian, I know you won't read a long one.
- Cian O'LearyThree lines. That's all I need.
- Lewis KerrThree lines it is. Deirdre, can you send me a couple of times in the next two weeks that suit you and Aisling for the demo?
- Deirdre BarryI will, I'll do it this afternoon. Thanks a million, Lewis.
- Cian O'LearyTalk soon, Lewis. Enjoy the rugby.
- Lewis KerrCheers both, speak soon.
