What this says
Current to 11 Oct 26Marcus Bell's 23 Mar 2026 check-in with Lauren Pilkington. Usage is rising slowly, the high priority ticket is closed, and Lauren expects Stuart Haworth to push for a discount on the £24k renewal.
What happened: Marcus Bell held a check-in with Lauren Pilkington on 23 Mar 2026 covering usage, a closed ticket and the renewal. Marcus said the average number of active people is still about three or four, with the trend up on last quarter.
Customer view: Lauren said a couple more consultants have started using the brain before calls, but some forget until a client is cross. She was relaxed about the ticket now that it is working again.
Commercial: The contract runs to 30 Apr 2026 and renews on 1 May 2026 at £24k for the year, with 15 licences. Lauren expects Stuart Haworth to ask for a discount, so Marcus flagged it to Priya Raman and will send a short usage note.
Watch: Lauren asked for a complaint alert, which Marcus said is not available on Starter. She also mentioned a wish to see candidates against client roles, which is a possible later need.

- Usage is still only about three or four active people, and consultants forget to use the brain until a client is unhappy.
Opportunities
Current to 9 Oct 26- Lauren's wish to see candidates against client roles may point to a future need worth scoping.
- A short bullet-point usage note could give Stuart a value case he will actually read.
Transcript
- Lauren Pilkington NoneHiya, Marcus. Sorry, I'm a minute late, a consultant grabbed me on the way in.
- Marcus Bell NoneNo problem at all. Good afternoon. Let me just share my screen, and then I'll say what I wanted to cover.
- Lauren Pilkington NoneCan I start with a quick one? One of the consultants asked if she can set up an alert when a client's complaint comes in. Is that a thing?
- Marcus Bell NoneNot an alert as such, not on Starter. They can ask the brain for recent complaints on a client any time, but it doesn't push anything out. I wouldn't want to promise something that isn't there.
- Lauren Pilkington NoneOkay, that's fine. I'll tell her to just ask it each morning.
- Marcus Bell NoneThat works. Right, so three things today. How the sessions we did with the consultants have landed, the ticket you raised, and where we are with the renewal. Shall we start with usage?
- Lauren Pilkington NoneGo on.
- Marcus Bell NoneI've pulled the numbers. The average number of active people is still about three or four, but the trend is up again on last quarter, a bit more than before. So it's moving, just slowly.
- Lauren Pilkington NoneThat sounds about right. A couple more of the consultants have started using it before calls. The trouble is some of them forget, then they remember when a client's cross with them.
- Marcus Bell NoneYeah, that's the habit again. Is it worth putting it on the Monday agenda? Just two minutes, someone shows a question they asked.
- Lauren Pilkington NoneThat's a good idea. I'll suggest it to Stuart. He likes anything that's quick.
- Marcus Bell NoneHa, he does. On the ticket, you raised one in the last few weeks. I can see it's marked high priority on your side. How did that land?
- Lauren Pilkington NoneYeah, it was a worry at the time because Nadia couldn't see something the consultants needed. Support came back to us and it got sorted. I don't really understand what they did, to be honest, something technical. But it's working again.
- Marcus Bell NoneThat's fine, I wouldn't expect you to. I can see it's closed and I can see the records are coming through again. If it comes back, tell me straight away and I'll chase it.
- Lauren Pilkington NoneWill do. Thanks.
- Marcus Bell NoneNow the renewal. The contract runs to 30 Apr 2026 and renews on 1 May 2026, at £24,000 for the year, same as now. You've got 15 licences. Stuart said last time he'd want a conversation, so I've flagged it to Priya.
- Lauren Pilkington NoneYeah, he'll definitely want that. He never signs without one. Honestly, he'll try for a discount.
- Marcus Bell NoneI'd expect so, and that's one for Priya. I don't get into price. I'll make sure she has the usage numbers though, so the conversation's based on what you've actually done.
- Lauren Pilkington NoneCan the numbers show it in a way Stuart will read? He doesn't read long emails.
- Marcus Bell NoneShort and simple, then. A few lines, questions asked, who's using it, how many up on last time. Bullet points. If he wants more he can ask.
- Lauren Pilkington NoneThat'd be perfect. He'll actually read that.
- Marcus Bell NoneGood. Anything else on your side before we wrap up? Anything the consultants are asking for that we haven't covered?
- Lauren Pilkington NoneNot really. Oh, actually, there's the thing about seeing candidates against client roles, but that's more of a wish than a problem. Maybe for later.
- Marcus Bell NoneHappy to look at that, mm. Send me a couple of examples of what you'd want to see and I'll tell you what's possible with what you've got connected.
- Lauren Pilkington NoneWill do, I'll send them over this week. Ta, Marcus.
- Marcus Bell NoneBrilliant. So, I'll send the usage note, brief Priya and keep an eye on that ticket. You'll float the Monday agenda idea with Stuart. Speak soon.
- Lauren Pilkington NoneSpeak soon. Bye.
