As at Fri 9 Oct 2026Kofi asked how to filter records by custom fleet-type fields to separate commercial and van data for reporting. Kate provided step-by-step guidance on using the custom fields filter panel. Kofi confirmed it worked.
Problem: Kofi needed to split client data by fleet type for report preparation but could not find the right filtering approach in the search interface.
Handling: Kate directed him to the custom fields filter panel in the left-side search interface, noting the fleet-type field would be visible. Kofi found it and confirmed the approach met his needs by 19 Mar 2026.
Watch: Straightforward feature adoption with no risk signals.

We need to be able to split our client list by fleet type, we manage commercial vehicles and vans separately and need to pull the data for each group separately when we're preparing reports. I've looked at the search help but I'm not finding the right approach. Can you point me in the right direction? Cheers, Kofi

In the search interface, go to the filter panel on the left side, scroll down to the section labelled "Custom fields", and you should see your fleet type field listed there. You can then select the values you want (commercial, van, etc.) and it'll filter your results accordingly. This should give you exactly what you need for splitting out the client data by fleet type. Let me know if you can see those options and if it works for your use case. Cheers, Kate
