Search results showing duplicate records for same distributor with different name formatting. Support identified deduplication bug on ingestion and escalated to engineering for next release.

Problem: Duplicate distributor records appearing in search results with identical underlying data but different name formatting. Support traced issue to deduplication bug in how records are indexed on ingestion. Escalated to engineering team for fix in next release. Watch: Data quality issue resolved in principle but customer impact and timeline unclear from evidence.

Hi, we're seeing duplicate records in search results when our customer success team looks up data on their distributors. Same company showing up twice with slightly different name formatting. Any idea why this is happening?

Hi Tyrell, thanks for flagging that. Can you give me an example of the duplicate records you're seeing? I need to understand the data source to investigate further.

When we search for data on one of our customer accounts, the same company appears twice - once with a full legal name and once with a shortened version. The underlying data is identical though - same domain, same company information, everything. It's confusing for our teams when they're looking up a specific record.

Thanks for that detail. I can see what's happening - we're treating those as separate records when they're actually the same entity. This is a bug in how we're deduplicating records on ingestion. I've picked this up with our engineering team and they'll have a fix in the next release.

Data as of Fri 9 Oct 2026. Text marked AI was written by the brain from the records listed in its made-from link; an AI output that cannot cite its evidence is refused and the previous text kept.
