Current to 11 Oct 26Duplicate records appeared due to inconsistent naming (capitalization) in CRM. Support de-duplicated on brain side while customer committed to CRM cleanup.
Problem: Directors noticed duplicate client records due to inconsistent naming in CRM (capital/lowercase variants). Handling: Support diagnosed root cause in source data and offered de-duplication on the brain side while customer handled CRM cleanup separately. This collaborative approach respected responsibility boundaries and resolved the customer-facing issue. Watch: Data quality dependencies are tight; CRM inconsistencies become visible immediately in the brain.

- created · Holly Tranter 25 Apr 2025 16:08We've noticed some duplicate client records appearing in the brain, the same company is showing up twice in the client list with slightly different names (one capitalised, one lowercase). This is causing confusion for the directors. When did this start, and is there a way to clean it up?
- public_reply · Olivia Grant 25 Apr 2025 18:40Hi Holly, Thanks for flagging this. Can you give me a few specific examples, what are the duplicate names you're seeing? And how many duplicates are in the system? I'll check your CRM sync to see if this is coming from the source data. Cheers, Olivia
- public_reply · Olivia Grant 28 Apr 2025 10:41I've checked the CRM data and I can see what's happening. A few clients have inconsistent naming, sometimes capital letters, sometimes not. This is coming from your CRM, but I can de-duplicate them on the brain side so they show as single records. Would that help?
- public_reply · Holly Tranter 28 Apr 2025 10:53Yes please, go ahead with the de-duplication. We'll handle the CRM cleanup separately with our team.
