Current to 10 Oct 26CSV export button did nothing on a large dashboard with approximately five thousand rows, no error shown. PDF export worked. Bethan identified a Growth tier row limit.
Problem: CSV export failed silently on a dashboard with significant data; PDF workaround existed but felt incomplete. Handling: Bethan asked Craig to test a simpler dashboard (which worked) and confirmed a row limit on Growth tier CSV export. Offered filtering workaround or API access. Watch: Silent failures are poor UX. Row limits should be documented or enforced at submission time. The customer has a workaround but may need higher export capacity in future.

I'm not getting any error message, it just doesn't generate a file. Works fine in PDF format though. Any thoughts? Regards, Craig
- public_reply · Bethan Lister 2 Apr 2025 09:41Thanks Craig. CSV export can be finicky depending on the number of columns and rows. Just so I've got this right – the PDF export works but CSV doesn't, and there's no error showing. Can you tell me roughly how many rows of data you're trying to export? Also, can you try a simpler dashboard and see if that exports to CSV?
- public_reply · Craig Paterson 4 Apr 2025 12:21Good point. I tried with a simpler dashboard and that one exported fine. The one that's failing has about five thousand rows. Is that a size limit?
- public_reply · Bethan Lister 8 Apr 2025 09:14That's it – the CSV export has a row limit in the Growth tier. You've got a couple of options: filter the data before exporting, or request the data through our API if your team can work with that. The PDF export doesn't have the same limit, which is why that one worked.
- public_reply · Craig Paterson 9 Apr 2025 15:50That makes sense. We can work with filters to break the export into chunks, or PDF is fine for our needs right now. Cheers for explaining that.
