Daniel Okafor gave notice of the Growth renewal at £48k. Philip Annear asked who uses the brain and what it saves before looking at the number. Daniel admitted usage is well short of fifty licences.

Ask: Philip, the Finance Director, wants usage and savings evidence before he considers the renewal figure. The term ends on 27 Dec 2024.

Customer view: he accepted the notice as timely but is testing value, with fifty licences against a little over ten users in a typical month.

Next: Daniel owes a short note on questions asked and manual cross-checking replaced, plus call times by the end of the week. Daniel also said the licence count may need discussing if no saving is shown.

Dear Philip, I hope you're well. I'm writing, as promised, to give you proper notice that the Pentreath Cold Chain Growth subscription comes up for renewal. The current term ends on 27 Dec 2024. The renewal is set up on our side at £47,500 in total, with a target of signing by 16 Dec 2024. Tom is copied in as he owns the commercial terms, and I'll look after the review of how the team has been using the brain. Could we find half an hour in the next couple of weeks to go through it together? Just to close the loop early, so there are no surprises nearer the time. Best wishes, Daniel

Daniel, Thanks for the notice. Good to have it in good time. Before we talk: we have fifty licences. Who's using it, and what does it save us? I'd like that in front of me before I look at the number. Philip Annear

Dear Philip, Thank you for coming back so quickly, and fair questions both. On who is using it: it is a little over ten people in a typical month, mostly the account managers, who use it to see each client's temperature-excursion tickets, orders and contract reviews in one place. It is well short of the fifty licences, and I'd rather say that plainly than have you find it yourself. Usage has been steady, and there have been no tickets or invoice issues this quarter. On what it saves: I'd like to build that with you rather than assert it. I'll pull together a short note for our call showing the questions your team have been asking and where it replaces the manual cross-checking they did before. If the note can't show a saving, we should talk about whether the licence count is right. I'll come back to you by the end of the week with some times. Best wishes, Daniel
