Ask: Helen needs to explain why the brain's repairs totals differ from the housing system report. She says the board will ask and she needs to know what to tell them and by when.
Customer view: She prefers a clear answer to a quick one, but the board pack deadline is pressing.
Next: Bethan found several job references appearing twice in the housing system export itself. She cannot give a date for a source fix, and proposes a mapping filter, to be tested on one week first.

Just so I've got this right: the repairs job totals in the brain are higher than the totals in your housing system report, and the gap is bigger than you would expect from timing alone. To reproduce it, can you send me the following? 1. The export from your housing system for one week, with the job references 2. The same week from the brain, taken from the repairs page 3. The section of the board pack that the figure feeds I have not found the cause yet and I do not want to guess at one before I have both sets of numbers side by side. Once I have them I will check whether the same job appears more than once and tell you what I see. Thanks, Bethan

A colleague on my team has been keeping a list of repairs jobs that look double-counted, and I have included that as well. The job references in his list are the ones to start with. These don't reconcile with the housing system, and the board will ask about it. The figure is in the repairs section of the board pack, and I cannot put it in front of them until I can explain the difference. I would rather have a clear answer than a quick one, but I do need to know what to tell the board and by when. What I see: several job references from your list appear twice in the housing system export itself, before they reach the brain. The brain is showing what the source sends it. So the repeat is coming from the source side, after the upgrade your team mentioned. I can't give you a date for the source being corrected, as that sits with whoever supports the housing system. What I can do is help your team filter the repeats in the brain so the totals match the housing system report in the meantime. That would be a mapping change, and I would walk your colleague through it so he can see exactly what is being removed. Can you try the check on one week and tell me what you see? If the totals match, we can apply it more widely. Thanks, Bethan
