What this says
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026Second demo for Fulbourn Underwriting. Octavia Blake saw a two-second query across all files and asked how data quality is checked. She says they are close to ready and will respond to a proposal before Christmas.
What happened: Hannah Lowe showed a complex query across all Fulbourn files, answered in two seconds. Octavia then probed data quality, release changes and what happens when something breaks.
Customer view: Octavia is positive and called the speed impressive. Nicholas, who was not on the call, had asked for more on performance and data quality, so he is the person still to convince.
Commercial: Lewis Kerr tied freshness service credits and Premium support to Enterprise. He promised a clean proposal this week and aimed for signature by the sixth of February, for a spring go-live.
Watch: Octavia's concern is that search across thousands of open files must be fast. The weekly data quality report and the stated response times become expectations the contract must match.

Transcript
- Lewis KerrOctavia, thanks for taking another call on this. How are you feeling after the last session?
- Octavia BlakeReally positive. Nicholas wanted to see a few more things, though, mainly around performance and data quality.
- Lewis KerrTotally fair. Hannah's going to walk through those in detail today. Hannah?
- Hannah LoweThanks. So today I want to show you performance: how fast the brain responds to queries: and data quality, making sure your historical data loaded correctly. Let me start with a performance test.
- Octavia BlakeGood. We have thousands of open files. If the brain takes ages to search across all of them, it's not going to help anyone.
- Hannah LoweRight. Let me run a complex query across all your files: this is looking for open matters with a specific broker mentioned, any pricing concerns, and activity in the last month. On your data volume.
- Octavia BlakeHow long?
- Hannah LoweTwo seconds. Full results. That's across every file, every email, every call note in the system.
- Octavia BlakeOkay, that's impressive.
- Hannah LoweThe short answer is it scales. The longer answer is it depends on your query complexity, but we've tested against accounts with your volume and it holds up.
- Lewis KerrAnd if you ever hit performance limits, that's something we monitor proactively. If we see an issue, we reach out.
- Octavia BlakeWhat about data quality? How do I know the data's loaded correctly? Do you validate against the source systems?
- Hannah LoweGood question. We do record counts, how many records came from each source, how many made it into the brain. You get a weekly data quality report. We also sample-check data from the source system against what you see in the brain, make sure the mapping's right.
- Octavia BlakeAnd if data doesn't match? If something's missing or corrupted?
- Hannah LoweWe'd identify it, get in touch, and either fix it or let you know what the issue is on your end: say, a system changed API, broke the connector. We don't hide data issues.
- Lewis KerrAnd again, on Enterprise, if data freshness is an issue, meaning data didn't load overnight, you get service credits.
- Octavia BlakeRight. What about when you release updates or new features? How does that affect us?
- Hannah LoweWe do rolling updates, you'll get new features every month or so. There's no downtime, and your queries keep working. We communicate changes before they land.
- Octavia BlakeOkay. And if something breaks?
- Hannah LoweEnterprise gets premium support, that's a named engineer, thirty-minute response on critical issues. We've got a proper incident response process.
- Lewis KerrThat's covered in the premium support add-on. Included with Enterprise.
- Octavia BlakeAlright. I think we're getting close to being ready. What happens now?
- Lewis KerrWe finalize the commercial terms: the all-in investment, the implementation timeline, any custom service levels you need. I'll send you a clean proposal this week. You review with Nicholas, and then we can have a final negotiation call and get to signature.
- Octavia BlakeWhen?
- Lewis KerrBy the sixth of February if we can. That gives you a spring go-live.
- Octavia BlakeOkay. Send the proposal. We'll review and get back to you before Christmas.
- Lewis KerrPerfect. Cheers, Octavia. Speak soon.
- Hannah LoweThanks, Octavia. Speak soon.
