What this says
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026Hamza Akhtar ran a training session on 3 Nov 2025 for three Clashmore consultants. Use was mostly Aisling Kiely alone, but all three found value in the client page and search. One open question on permissions.
What happened: Hamza walked Aisling, Shane Twomey and Méabh Crowley through pages, search and chat on their own clients. Aisling said use was mostly her alone.
Customer view: Shane had logged in once and gone back to the spreadsheet, then found the client page quicker and spotted an open invoice. Méabh liked finding moved contacts and saving a search.
Commercial: Aisling is careful with the four Starter connectors, and fifteen licensed users leave room to bring more consultants across. Nothing on the call is an upgrade signal yet.
Watch: Shane said remembering the habit is the difficulty. Aisling asked whether new users see everything or only their own clients, and Hamza promised a written answer.

- Saved searches and the client page with invoices gave consultants a concrete reason to return.
Transcript
- Hamza AkhtarHello, can you hear me all right? I can see Aisling and Shane, waiting on Méabh I think.
- Aisling KielyHi Hamza, yes, loud and clear. Méabh said she'd be a minute, she's finishing a call with a client.
- Shane TwomeyAfternoon. Sorry, I've got half an eye on my phone, we've a candidate about to ring back.
- Hamza AkhtarNo bother at all. Good afternoon. While we wait, how's the week been? Busy?
- Aisling KielyHectic. Monday after a long weekend, everyone's inbox is just full. Which is partly why we wanted this session, to be honest.
- Méabh CrowleySorry, sorry, I'm here. Can you hear me? Right, grand. Have I missed anything?
- Hamza AkhtarNot a thing. So the plan for today is a walk through the brain the way a consultant would use it. Pages first, then search, then chat. I'll share my screen, and then you each try it on one of your own clients while I watch.
- Shane TwomeyPerfect. Honestly I've logged in once. I looked at it, I didn't know what to ask it, and I went back to the spreadsheet.
- Hamza AkhtarThat's very common, so no worries. Most people think of it as a search box and then stall. It's more useful to think of it as a client page that already has the roles, the placements and the invoices on it. Let me show you.
- Hamza AkhtarSo here's a client page. Up top, the open roles. Underneath, placements. And the invoices sit alongside, so before you ring a hiring manager you can see whether they have anything outstanding with you.
- Méabh CrowleyRight. That's the thing I actually care about. Can I see a client's whole history, not just this year?
- Hamza AkhtarYou can see what's been indexed from your systems, so it goes back as far as the sources do. If something looks missing, tell Aisling and she can check the connector. Aisling, you're the admin, so you'll see the connector settings.
- Aisling KielyYeah, I've been in there. Four connectors, that's the limit on Starter, so I'm being careful about what we switch on.
- Hamza AkhtarGood, that's the sensible way to treat it. And you've fifteen licensed users, so there's plenty of room for the rest of the consultants when you're ready.
- Shane TwomeyFifteen. And how many of us are actually on it? Be honest.
- Aisling KielyMostly me, if I'm honest. The odd time somebody else. That's the reason for today.
- Hamza AkhtarThat's fine, that's the starting point. Okay, Shane, you're life sciences. Pick a client you know well and open its page. Take your time, I'll stay quiet.
- Shane TwomeyOkay. Give me a second. I'll go with one of the pharma clients we've placed with a good few times.
- Shane TwomeyRight, I'm on it. Oh. That's quicker than the spreadsheet. The last placement is there, and the invoice. That one's still showing as open, I didn't know that.
- Hamza AkhtarExactly the kind of thing. You'd have rung them cold and not known. Now try the chat. Ask it something you'd normally dig for, like which roles they've had open longest.
- Shane TwomeyOkay, typing. Which roles has this client had open the longest. Mm. Right, it's giving me a list. Is it right though? How would I know?
- Hamza AkhtarGood question. Every answer has the sources underneath it, so click through. If it doesn't match what you know, say so, because that usually points at a source that's out of date.
- Shane TwomeyChecked three of them. They match. Fair enough, I'm sold on that bit.
- Hamza AkhtarBrilliant. Méabh, your turn, engineering. Same again, one client you know, and this time try search rather than chat.
- Méabh CrowleyOkay. Search for what, though? Names? Because half the engineering contacts I deal with have changed jobs.
- Hamza AkhtarNames work, and so does a topic or a client. Try a contact and see where else they show up. That's useful for exactly your problem, people who've moved.
- Méabh CrowleyRight. I tried a contact who moved to another firm and it found them in two places. That's actually handy. Wait, can I save that search somehow? I'd want it again.
- Hamza AkhtarYou can keep it as a page. I'll show you where. It's under the star, top right of the results.
- Méabh CrowleyGot it. Brilliant. Sorry, go on.
- Aisling KielyHamza, can I ask something on the admin side? If I add one of the new consultants, do they see everything, or only their own clients?
- Hamza AkhtarI'd rather not guess on the exact permissions, I'll check and put it in the follow-up email so you have it in writing. Is that okay?
- Aisling KielyGrand, that's fine. I'd just like to know before I roll it out.
- Hamza AkhtarUnderstood. Let's do one more exercise, all three of you. Pick a client you're about to ring this afternoon and prepare for the call using the brain only. No spreadsheet. See how it feels.
- Shane TwomeyI've that candidate callback in a minute, so I can use that one. Back in a bit.
- Aisling KielyDone, I think. For me it was faster to start from the client page and then ask chat about open invoices. I'd never have thought to do it in that order.
- Méabh CrowleySame. I found a placement note I'd forgotten about completely. That would have been embarrassing on the call.
- Shane TwomeyI'll be straight with you, I'll probably use it more now. The difficulty is remembering. Habit, you know. Spreadsheet's open already.
- Hamza AkhtarThat's honest, and it's the real thing. My suggestion is one habit only: open the client page before every client call this week. Not everything, just that.
- Aisling KielyI can say that to the team on Wednesday at the stand-up. Reinforce it.
- Hamza AkhtarPlease do. Right, anything still confusing? Anything you want me to go back over?
- Méabh CrowleyThe star thing again, saving a search. Just so I do it without you.
- Hamza AkhtarOf course. Run your search, click the star top right, give it a name, and it appears in your pages. Try it now, I'll wait.
- Méabh CrowleyDone. It's there. Lovely.
- Hamza AkhtarGood. So, to wrap up. I'll send a short written recap with the steps we did today and the answer on permissions. Aisling, you'll tell the team on Wednesday. And in a couple of weeks Elena will check in on how usage is going.
- Aisling KielyPerfect. Thanks, Hamza, that was far more useful than the video you sent us before.
- Shane TwomeyYeah, thanks. Cheers. I'll give it a proper go.
- Méabh CrowleyThanks all. Right, I've a client waiting. Bye now.
- Hamza AkhtarBye all, speak soon.
