What this says
Current to 12 Oct 26Kickoff for Bayard Lane Payments' eight-week implementation. Monique Fairley named Javier Ortiz as Salesforce point person, expects merchant success and finance users first, and admits the data has gaps she cannot locate.
What happened: Hamza Akhtar and Amara Obi walked Monique Fairley through the 19 Mar 2026 kickoff plan. Sources are Salesforce, the call recorder, Zendesk and the accounting system, with go-live at week eight.
Customer view: Monique said the data gaps are partly why they bought the brain, but they do not know where the gaps are. Javier Ortiz was not on the call.
Commercial: Amara estimated about twenty users against forty in the Growth tier, so there is headroom. She also said SSO would be set up, which the price book lists under Enterprise, so the order form should be checked.
Watch: Some data fixes sit with the customer in Salesforce. A slow runbook handover to Javier would delay the first test load.

Next steps
Current to 9 Oct 26- Hamza Akhtar to send Monique Fairley the formal timeline and sign-off checklist by end of day on 19 Mar 2026.
- Hamza Akhtar to send Javier Ortiz the connector runbook, with Monique Fairley to get him moving the following week.
- Amara Obi to hold a weekly thirty-minute check-in with Monique Fairley.
Risks
Current to 9 Oct 26- Salesforce data cleaning is partly the customer's to do, so a slow start by Javier Ortiz could delay the quality audit and the week eight go-live.
- Amara Obi said SSO would be set up under Growth, but the price book lists SSO under Enterprise, so the order form needs checking.
- Monique Fairley does not know where the data gaps are, so trust in the brain depends on the audit findings.
Opportunities
Current to 9 Oct 26- Initial access is about twenty users against forty in the Growth tier, leaving room to widen beyond merchant success and finance.
- The quality audit report could lead to further connector work as gaps are found.
Transcript
- Hamza Akhtar NoneMonique, hi, I'm Hamza, implementation lead here at BB-Demo. This is Amara, your customer success manager. We're going to spend the next hour walking through what we'll cover over the next eight weeks and checking that the foundations are in place.
- Monique Fairley NoneGreat. Thanks for being clear. What do you need from us first?
- Hamza Akhtar NoneRight. So data sources: you're giving us Salesforce, call recorder, Zendesk, and your accounting system, yeah?
- Monique Fairley NoneThat's the plan. Javier from our admin team is the Salesforce owner, he'll be your point person there. I'm handling it from the business side.
- Hamza Akhtar NonePerfect. I'll send Javier a runbook with the connectors we need, API keys, data access, all the technical bits. That usually takes a couple of days, then we spin up the first test load by end of next week.
- Amara Obi NoneAnd on my side, Monique, who should get access to the brain once it's live? Are we thinking merchant success only, or wider?
- Monique Fairley NoneProbably merchant success and finance initially, so my team and Dana's team. Maybe two or three people from each?
- Amara Obi NoneThat's about twenty people. Growth tier covers forty, so you've got plenty of headroom. We'll set up SSO so you manage the access yourself once we're live.
- Hamza Akhtar NoneData quality, what gaps do you know about? Missing fields, systems that don't talk to each other, that kind of thing?
- Monique Fairley NoneHonestly, that's partly why we bought the brain. We know there are gaps but we're not sure where.
- Hamza Akhtar NoneRight, we'll find them. Weeks two and three we'll load the data and run a quality audit. We'll come back to you with a report and a plan to fix the worst ones. Some of those fixes are on you, getting your Salesforce data clean, and some we can handle in the connectors.
- Monique Fairley NoneHow long does that take?
- Hamza Akhtar NoneDepends. Usually a couple of weeks. By week five or six you should have a brain you can trust.
- Amara Obi NoneAnd then I'll run your first training: show your team how to ask questions, build their first dashboard, that kind of thing. We'll do that week six or seven, let you have a couple of weeks to play before we formally go live at week eight.
- Monique Fairley NoneThat sounds right. What's on my plate?
- Hamza Akhtar NoneData access sign-offs, getting Javier moving on the connectors, carving out time for a couple of meetings with us to discuss your questions schema, how you want the brain to know about your business.
- Amara Obi NoneAnd I'll check in weekly, just a thirty-minute synch to make sure nothing's stuck. I'm looking forward to working with you.
- Monique Fairley NoneCheers. I'll get Javier the runbook and let's kick off next week.
- Hamza Akhtar NonePerfect. I'll send over the formal timeline and sign-off checklist by end of day. Thanks, Monique.
