What this says
Current to 11 Oct 26Corriemoor Foods said only about three of its fifteen account managers use the brain regularly and the finance side questioned the Starter fee. BB-Demo offered a data refresh and a training hour before the renewal decision.
What happened: Elliot Allott and Sam Yates opened by saying they are reviewing their software stack. Nell Ashcombe and Daniel Okafor agreed a connector check, a data refresh and a training session ahead of the renewal call.
Customer view: Elliot said adoption never spread beyond about three people and that early sync issues knocked confidence. The users find it convenient but it has not changed how they sell.
Commercial: Sam put the Starter fee at nineteen and a half thousand a year and said it is hard to justify without material impact. Nell said discounts are for new deals and renewals pay list.
Watch: Nobody on the customer side has checked whether the sync issues were fixed. If the refresh does not show clear value, the renewal at the end of the contract term is at real risk.

Follow-up
Next steps
Current to 9 Oct 26- Daniel Okafor to send Elliot Allott training dates the day after the call.
- BB-Demo to run the data refresh and connector check with the customer's admin before the renewal decision.
- Nell Ashcombe and Daniel to check in with Elliot and Sam Yates after the refresh to agree the renewal path.
Risks
Current to 9 Oct 26- Only about three of fifteen account managers use the brain, so the Starter renewal could lapse for lack of demonstrated value.
- Early sync issues were never confirmed as fixed, which may mean stale data is still undermining confidence.
- The finance side is reviewing spend and was told no discount is available at renewal.
Opportunities
Current to 9 Oct 26- A refresh, connector health check and training hour could show value to the wider account manager team.
- The three regular users value seeing calls and emails per prospect in one place, which can anchor a value case.
Transcript
- Nell Ashcombe NoneThanks for making time this afternoon, Elliot, Sam. How are things in Glasgow?
- Elliot Allott NoneNot bad, yeah. Busy, but we wanted to touch base about the brain before summer.
- Sam Yates NoneWe're reviewing our software stack, and wanted to understand the brain's fit.
- Nell Ashcombe NoneSure. Daniel's here as well, he knows your team well. So tell me, how have your account managers been getting on with it?
- Daniel Okafor NoneYeah, I'd be curious to hear. We've not had much feedback over the past months, so it would be good to understand how it's landing with the team.
- Elliot Allott NoneTo be honest, it's been a bit quieter than we hoped. When you guys demoed it, we thought everyone would start asking it questions: you know, joining the calls, emails, the CRM together. In reality, we've got maybe three people using it regularly, and the rest... it sort of didn't stick.
- Sam Yates NoneAnd we're looking at the renewal now, Nell. We need to understand if the value is really there before we commit for another year.
- Nell Ashcombe NoneFair. What do you think got in the way?
- Elliot Allott NonePartly the data, early on there were some sync issues, things moving slower than expected. That knocked confidence a bit. But also just... the team got used to their old way of working, and we didn't push them hard enough to change.
- Daniel Okafor NoneThose early sync issues, did we get those sorted, do you know?
- Elliot Allott NoneHonestly, we haven't looked at it for months. The three people who use it seem happy with what it does. But the wider adoption just... hasn't happened. We've got fifteen account managers, and they're not really engaging.
- Nell Ashcombe NoneWhat are the three finding most useful?
- Elliot Allott NoneSeeing outstanding calls and emails for a prospect without having to dig through five systems. It's a convenience thing. But it hasn't changed how they sell or close a deal.
- Sam Yates NoneSo we're at nineteen and a half thousand a year on Starter, and from my side, it's hard to justify without seeing material impact.
- Daniel Okafor NoneThat's the annual figure, yeah. And you could do quarterly if that helped, but the annual comes with our standard terms.
- Nell Ashcombe NoneBefore we talk renewal, I want to ask: is there low-hanging fruit we could grab? Like, have the data problems you had really been fixed, and maybe the team just hasn't given it another go?
- Elliot Allott NoneThat's possible, to be fair. We could check. But right now, sitting here, I can't point to something the brain has done that's moved the dial.
- Nell Ashcombe NoneI hear you. I don't want to keep selling something that isn't working. One option: we could run a quick refresh: get your admin to pull the latest data, double-check the connectors are healthy, and maybe do a brief training for anyone who wants to jump back in. That might be enough to show whether there's value here.
- Daniel Okafor NoneWe could do that next week if you're keen.
- Elliot Allott NoneThat might be worth trying.
- Sam Yates NoneAnd on price, I know you probably won't discount, but is there any flexibility given we're reviewing our spend?
- Nell Ashcombe NoneDiscounts are for new deals, Sam. Once you're in renewal, you pay list. But honestly, I'd rather have the right conversation about whether the brain is the right thing for you. If it's not, let's free up the budget.
- Elliot Allott NoneUnderstood.
- Daniel Okafor NoneSo let's do this: I'll set up an hour next week, walk the team through what's in the brain, show them what a really good query looks like, and you can see if it lands differently. No pressure, just a chance to revisit it.
- Elliot Allott NoneYeah, let's do that. Send me a couple of dates and I'll get people together.
- Daniel Okafor NoneWill do. I'll come back to you tomorrow with options.
- Sam Yates NoneAnd then we'll have a clearer picture before we need to make the renewal call?
- Nell Ashcombe NoneThat's the idea. The contract runs until 31 July, so you've got a few weeks. Once the refresh happens, we can talk about what you want to do from 1 August.
- Elliot Allott NoneOkay. I like that. Let's do the training, and then we'll have a proper think about it.
- Nell Ashcombe NonePerfect. Daniel will send those dates, and we'll check in after the refresh to see how it landed.
- Daniel Okafor NoneThanks for your time, both of you. I'll be in touch tomorrow.
- Elliot Allott NoneCheers, Daniel.
- Nell Ashcombe NoneSpeak soon.
