Demo of the brain on sample data for Hollins Tarrant. Interest was real, but Rob Ellery did not commit. Jenna Price wants the proposal and a one page security note first. Starter tier and a four week implementation were discussed.

What happened: On 23 Oct 2023 Tom Ashdown demoed a brain on sample client, placement and ticket data. Josh Penrose and Rob Ellery both reacted well to the quiet-clients and fee questions.

Customer view: Jenna Price asked where data goes and who can see it, and wants the Snowflake answer in writing. She also warned that if setup needs her, it will not happen.

Commercial: Tom pitched Starter with one team, fifteen users and four connectors, and four weeks to implement. Rob said he is not saying yes today and the figure will come in the proposal.

Watch: Jenna said a CRM change is possible at some point, which would affect a connector.

Follow-up

Next steps

Current to 9 Oct 26
  • Tom Ashdown sends the Starter proposal that week and books a slot to go through it.
  • Tobias Renwick sends the one page security note that week.
  • Tom Ashdown confirms the full Starter figure in the proposal rather than quoting from memory.

Risks

Current to 9 Oct 26
  • Rob Ellery did not commit and Jenna Price needs several days to read the proposal.
  • Jenna Price will not take on setup work herself, so the implementation must be fully handled by BB-Demo.
  • A possible future CRM change could break a connector.

Opportunities

Current to 9 Oct 26
  • Starter tier with a four week implementation fits the single team and the interest in quiet-client and fee questions.
  • A clear written note on the Snowflake approach can settle the compliance concern.

Afternoon all. Josh, you've made it. Rob, Jenna, and Tobias, our CTO, who's going to help with the clever bits.
  2. Josh Penrose
    Josh Penrose None
Afternoon. Quick one before we start, I'm chasing a placement that needs to close before month end, so if I vanish for a minute that's why.
  3. Rob Ellery
    Rob Ellery None
How long's this going to be? I've got the same candidate call as last time.
  4. Tom Ashdown
    Tom Ashdown None
Under the hour, Rob, no drama. Tobias, over to you for a second.
  5. Tobias Renwick
    Tobias Renwick None
Thank you, Tom. Before we show anything, can I ask what your security team, or whoever fills that role, will need to see? Because I would rather answer that first than leave it.
  6. Jenna Price
    Jenna Price None
That's me, I'm afraid. Systems and compliance. Honestly it's mainly where the data goes and who can see what.
  7. Tobias Renwick
    Tobias Renwick None
To be precise, then: the brain is built and run inside your own Snowflake account. The data is not copied out to us. That means your existing controls apply, and you decide who has access. The trade-off is that you need that account, which we set up with you.
  8. Jenna Price
    Jenna Price None
Okay. That's a clear answer. Can I get that in writing for later?
  9. Tobias Renwick
    Tobias Renwick None
Yes. I will write it down on one page.
  10. Tom Ashdown
    Tom Ashdown None
Right, I'll share my screen. This is a brain pointed at a sample of the kind of data you described, your client accounts, placements and tickets. Josh, what were you chasing?
  11. Josh Penrose
    Josh Penrose None
A client I haven't heard from in a bit. I'd like to know if they've gone quiet or if I'm imagining it.
  12. Tom Ashdown
    Tom Ashdown None
Perfect. Let me type that. Which of my clients have gone quiet recently, no placements, no tickets?
  13. Josh Penrose
    Josh Penrose None
Oh, that's quick. Okay. That's actually the list I'd build by hand. Any joy getting it to say why?
  14. Tom Ashdown
    Tom Ashdown None
It'll show you what it's used. So here, it's pulled the last placement, the last ticket and the last email, and it tells you where each came from. You can click through.
  15. Rob Ellery
    Rob Ellery None
Does it tell me which ones matter? I've got a lot of small clients.
  16. Tom Ashdown
    Tom Ashdown None
Ask it. Which quiet clients have paid us the most in fees?
  17. Rob Ellery
    Rob Ellery None
Hang on. That's the list I'd want on a Monday.
  18. Tom Ashdown
    Tom Ashdown None
That's the idea. Not a big report you ask someone for, a question you ask yourself.
  19. Jenna Price
    Jenna Price None
Who sets that up? Is that me? Because honestly, if it needs me, it won't happen.
  20. Tobias Renwick
    Tobias Renwick None
The honest answer is that we do the connecting, in the implementation. It's a fixed piece of work and it's finished before you rely on it. After that, the refresh runs overnight and you shouldn't need to touch it. The trade-off is that if you change a system later, a connector may need attention, and we'd want to hear about that.
  21. Jenna Price
    Jenna Price None
Right. We might change the CRM at some point. Not soon. But it's a thing.
  22. Tobias Renwick
    Tobias Renwick None
Then tell us when you do, and the connector is the first thing we look at.
  23. Josh Penrose
    Josh Penrose None
Quick one. Does it slow down? Afternoons in here are a nightmare as it is.
  24. Tom Ashdown
    Tom Ashdown None
It's not touching your CRM live, Josh. It's reading the copy it holds. So your CRM doesn't know it's there.
  25. Josh Penrose
    Josh Penrose None
Cheers, appreciate it. That's all I needed.
  26. Rob Ellery
    Rob Ellery None
What would we be paying for, on top of all this? I'll say it plainly.
  27. Tom Ashdown
    Tom Ashdown None
Starter tier. One team, fifteen users, four connectors. I'll put the full figure in the proposal and I'll confirm it rather than quote from memory. It's in the area we talked about before.
  28. Rob Ellery
    Rob Ellery None
Fine. How long to get it going?
  29. Tom Ashdown
    Tom Ashdown None
Four weeks for Starter, from when you sign.
  30. Rob Ellery
    Rob Ellery None
Okay. I'll let Jenna look at it. I'm not saying yes today.
  31. Jenna Price
    Jenna Price None
I'd like to see the proposal first. Sorry, it'll be a few days before I've read it properly.
  32. Tom Ashdown
    Tom Ashdown None
That's fine. Take your time. I'll send it over this week and we'll pick a slot to go through it. Cheers, everyone.
  33. Tobias Renwick
    Tobias Renwick None
I will send the one page this week. Best, Tobias.

Data as of Fri 9 Oct 2026. Text marked AI was written by the brain from the records listed in its made-from link; an AI output that cannot cite its evidence is refused and the previous text kept. Where two systems disagree (for example a contract and the CRM), the key facts show both values and mark the difference.
