Current to 10 Oct 26Craig Paterson asked how to set up a test environment before making production configuration changes. Tobias Renwick explained that test isolation requires the Enterprise Sandbox feature.
Problem: Craig wanted a separate test environment to safely try configuration changes before applying to production. Handling: Tobias explained that two instances cannot run in the same Snowflake account and directed Craig to the Enterprise Sandbox feature, which requires an upgrade from Starter. Craig accepted testing carefully in production. Watch: This is a feature gap that signals an upsell opportunity: the customer has identified a need (test isolation) that aligns with Enterprise capabilities.

What's the recommended approach? Can we run two separate instances of the brain, or should we use something different? Regards, Craig
- public_reply · Tobias Renwick 25 May 2023 00:10Hello Craig, to be precise: you can't run two separate instances inside the same Snowflake account without them interfering. The honest answer is that what you're looking for is our Sandbox feature, which lets you test mapping and data refresh in isolation. That's on the Enterprise plan, though – you're on Starter. The trade-off is either test carefully in production, or use a separate Snowflake workspace if your team has one available. Best, Tobias
