Current to 10 Oct 26Aisha Rahman asked how to add users to the brain and whether permissions were required. Callie Brennan explained that users must be added to the Microsoft 365 directory first, after which they sync automatically to the brain's admin panel for activation.
Problem: Aisha was unclear whether to add users in the brain or in a directory, and whether permissions needed manual setup.
Handling: Callie clarified that BB-Demo syncs from Microsoft 365, so IT must add users there first. They then appear automatically in the admin panel for activation.
Watch: Standard onboarding question with clear resolution. No escalation needed.

I've looked in the admin settings but I can't work out if I add them in the brain panel itself or if they need to be set up elsewhere first. I've attached a screenshot of the admin panel. Once they're added, will they see everything automatically or do I need to set permissions? Thanks, Aisha
- public_reply · Callie Brennan 13 Feb 2024 13:44Hi Aisha, Thanks for the screenshot. I can see the admin panel you're looking at. Before we add users, what I need from your side is: are these people already in your Microsoft 365 directory? If they are, they should sync automatically to the brain. If not, your IT team needs to add them to the directory first. Let me know on that and I'll walk you through the rest. Thanks, Callie
- public_reply · Callie Brennan 15 Feb 2024 11:42I've had another look at your screenshot. Your directory is connected to the brain (which is how it should be from our setup), so new users will appear in this admin panel as soon as they're added to Microsoft 365. You'll just need to activate them after that. That should cover it. Thanks, Callie
- public_reply · Aisha Rahman 15 Feb 2024 14:30Thanks for that. So the first step is for our IT team to add them to Microsoft 365, and then they'll show up here in the admin panel automatically. Is it me or is that clearer than I thought? I'll get IT to add them and then follow up. Thanks, Aisha
