What this says
Current to 11 Oct 26Rupert Lasker, Chief Financial Officer, agrees to thirty minutes but will not commit at a first meeting. He wants usage and annual cost first. Daniel Okafor gives £42k and says about eleven of forty users are active.
Ask: Rupert wants to see what Delancey Haig actually uses and what it pays before any renewal talk. He says plainly he is not committing at the first meeting.
Customer view: He is guarded and judging the Growth subscription on cost against use. Daniel volunteered that activity has eased and that the client-account directors are the main users.
Next: Daniel is to send the usage and cost note ahead of the call and propose morning slots by Monday, once Saskia Mendes can join.

- Daniel Okafor 16 May 2025 10:19Dear Rupert, I hope you are well. Your Growth subscription runs to 2 Jul 2025, so I would like to find a little time with you to talk through the renewal before then. Saskia has been involved in the conversations so far and is happy for us to speak. I would suggest thirty minutes. I will bring a short summary of how the brain has been used across the firm, what it has covered since you joined on 3 Jul 2024, and the options for the next term, so you can judge it against what it costs. Could you let me know which days suit you best over the next couple of weeks? I am happy to work around your diary. Best wishes, Daniel
- Rupert Lasker 20 May 2025 09:24Daniel, Thanks. Thirty minutes is fine, but I will say now that I am not committing to anything at a first meeting. I would like to know what we are actually using, and remind me of the annual cost, please. Send both before we speak if you can. I am in most of next week, mornings are better. Can you do that? Rupert
- Daniel Okafor 21 May 2025 10:14Dear Rupert, Of course, and understood on not deciding at the first meeting. That is perfectly reasonable. On the cost: the contracted annual amount is £41,800, for forty licensed users on the Growth tier. On usage: around eleven people are active in a typical month, so well below the licensed number. Activity has eased a little over the last couple of quarters. I would rather you hear that from me now than find it in the summary. The ones using it are the client-account directors, who lean on it before reviews. There has been very little in the way of support tickets, and nothing outstanding on invoices. I will put the detail in the note I send ahead of our conversation. I will suggest a couple of morning slots early next week once I have checked with Saskia that she can join. I will come back to you by Monday. Best wishes, Daniel
