What it says
What this says
Current to 11 Oct 26Quarterly business review deck presented by Marcus Bell on 1 Apr 2024 for a Starter account. Usage is rising from a small base, with no tickets and nothing overdue. The term ends on 30 Nov 2024; no commercial ask is made.
What it is: a customer-facing QBR deck from Marcus Bell, Customer Success Manager, dated 1 Apr 2024. It is not a contract and states no price.
Commits: BB-Demo actions only, all led by Marcus: widen the user group within the licence, share a usage report, confirm every connected source is still loading, and collect two or three examples of value.
Unusual: nothing off standard terms. It says "We are not asking for anything commercial at this stage" and that moving beyond fifteen users would be a tier conversation for Tom Ashdown.
Not settled: the contracted value is only described as the Starter subscription in the executed order form. The deck is over two years old at the as-of date, so its usage and term statements are stale. It does not show whether the 30 Nov 2024 renewal happened.

Brackwell runs road freight and contract warehousing for retailers from Trafford Park and five other depots. The brain was bought so that revenue operations and the depot account managers can see accounts, delivery-exception tickets and calls together, and spot at-risk retail contracts early.
Usage this quarter
Read the whole document (3,986 characters)
- On a typical day, a little over two people were active in the brain, against a licence for fifteen.
- That is close to double the average of the previous quarter, which is a good direction of travel from a small base.
- There is plenty of headroom on the licence, so there is no pressure on seats and nothing to change in the commercial terms.
How we read it: the trajectory matters more than the level. More people are coming to the brain than in the last quarter, but it is still a small group. The next step is to make sure the extra use is spread across more than one or two names.
Support and service
| Measure | This quarter |
|---|---|
| Tickets raised | None in the last month |
| High-priority tickets | None |
| Nightly refresh | Running as expected |
| Service credits due | None |
Quiet support can be a good sign, and here it sits alongside rising usage and paid invoices, so we read it as a healthy account rather than a silent one. We will keep watching it against usage in case that changes.
Value so far
- Revenue operations now has one place to look at an account, its delivery-exception tickets and recent calls.
- The depot account managers can prepare for a conversation with a retailer without opening several systems.
- The aim of spotting at-risk retail contracts early is still the main test. We would like to leave this review with a short list of contracts the team looked at differently because of what the brain showed.
Open question for Brackwell: which retail contract, if any, did you look at sooner or differently this quarter because of the brain? Even one example helps us describe the value in your words.
What we plan to do next
| Action | Who | When |
|---|---|---|
| Bring more depot account managers into the brain, within the licence | Marcus Bell with the Brackwell operations lead | Over the next quarter |
| Share a short usage report showing who is asking the questions | Marcus Bell | Next month |
| Confirm that every connected source is still loading the records people expect | Marcus Bell | Next month |
| Collect two or three examples of the brain being useful | Marcus Bell with Brackwell revenue operations | Before the next review |
We are not asking for anything commercial at this stage. If usage grows beyond one team, or beyond the user licence of fifteen, that is a conversation about moving up a tier, and Tom Ashdown would pick that up with you.
Renewal horizon
The current term ends on 30 Nov 2024. There is no decision needed now. The renewal conversation will be led by Marcus well ahead of the end of the term, and we want it to be based on what the brain has done for Brackwell, which is why the examples above matter.
Summary
- Usage is rising from a small base.
- No service issues and nothing overdue.
- The priority is widening the user group and capturing concrete examples of value.
Shall we book half an hour to go through it together?
Thanks, Marcus
