What this says
Current to 11 Oct 26Elliot Kirkby says the brain is the team's default for pulling information together. Usage is growing, partners are not yet using it, and he has no questions ahead of the April renewal.
What happened: Daniel Okafor ran a routine check-in on 22 Sep 2025. Elliot Kirkby reported the team uses the brain as a default and that there were no real problems.
Customer view: Use is mostly business development and a couple of office operations people. The partners are aware of it but not using it yet.
Commercial: Marlstone Legal is on Growth with eight connectors and uses three. Elliot raised connecting the accounting system to link billing to matters, probably next year, which is a connector opportunity.
Watch: Daniel flagged the renewal at the start of April next year, and Elliot had no questions. Partner adoption is the open gap.

Next steps
Current to 9 Oct 26- Daniel Okafor to check in again in a couple of months and start the renewal conversation in the new year.
Risks
Current to 9 Oct 26- The partners are not using the brain yet, so adoption sits with business development and office operations.
Opportunities
Current to 9 Oct 26- Connecting the accounting system to link billing to matters would add a fourth connector on the Growth tier.
- Bringing the partners in would widen use beyond the current teams.
Transcript
- Daniel Okafor NoneElliot, thanks for taking this call. How is the team finding the brain so far?
- Elliot Kirkby NoneReally well, actually. The team has been using it quite a bit. It's become a sort of default now when someone needs to pull information together.
- Daniel Okafor NoneThat's fantastic to hear. I'm seeing that in the usage metrics too. Your team is asking more questions week on week. Nearly ten active users now, which is great for growth. How is adoption going in other parts of the firm?
- Elliot Kirkby NoneIt's mostly the business development side right now, and a couple of people from the office operations team. The partners are aware of it but they're not using it yet. We're still talking through with them.
- Daniel Okafor NoneThat makes sense. As more of the team realise the value, they tend to bring themselves in. Have you had any tickets or issues we need to sort out?
- Elliot Kirkby NoneNothing major. One small issue where someone wasn't sure how to filter a search result, but Emma helped them. Otherwise no problems that I'm aware of.
- Daniel Okafor NoneGood to hear. Just to close the loop, I'm tracking a few key things. You're on the Growth tier with eight connectors. You're using three right now. Is there anything else you're looking to connect over the next couple of quarters?
- Elliot Kirkby NoneWe've talked about bringing in the accounting system to link billing to matters, but that's next year probably.
- Daniel Okafor NoneThat's a good use case. When you're ready to move on that, just let me know and we can set it up. And on support, is the team finding it easy to reach us if they need to?
- Elliot Kirkby NoneYeah, no issues there. I've got your email, Emma knows who to contact.
- Daniel Okafor NonePerfect. One more thing: we're coming up to your renewal at the start of April next year. We should start thinking about that in the new year, but just to flag it now. Any questions or anything you'd like to see from us before then?
- Elliot Kirkby NoneNothing at the moment. Everything is running smoothly.
- Daniel Okafor NoneBrilliant. I'll check in again in a couple of months. If anything comes up in the meantime, just drop me a note. Cheers, Elliot.
- Elliot Kirkby NoneThanks, Daniel.
