Current to 10 Oct 26Daniel Okafor chases a check-in before the 30 Jun 2026 contract end. Imogen Hartley asks whether a handful of people or the whole operations function relies on the brain, and wants the answer before discussing renewal internally.
Ask: Imogen wants a summary of questions asked and sources, and wants her head of underwriting operations to join part of the meeting.
Customer view: her test is breadth of adoption. If the brain is leant on by a handful of people, she wants to know before renewal talks inside Fenmoor.
Next: Monday afternoon is pencilled, with Daniel sending the summary the day before. The thread shows no ticket and a steady nightly refresh, but no outcome.

- Daniel Okafor 27 Apr 2026 14:52Hello Imogen, Just a short note to pick up from our last conversation. I'd like to fix a time for the next check-in, ideally before the end of this week or early next, so that we have room to act on whatever comes out of it before the contract end on 30 Jun 2026. Usage has been steady since we last spoke. Nothing dramatic, no tickets from your team, and the nightly refresh has been landing as it should. That is the good news. What I cannot see from here is whether the people who do use the brain are the ones you would most like to see using it, and that is what I would like us to look at together. If it helps, I can bring a short summary of what the underwriting operations team has been asking, and where the answers have come from, so we are not working from memory. Could you let me know a day that works? I'll come back to you by Wednesday with a confirmed invitation once I have heard from you. Best wishes, Daniel
- Imogen Hartley 28 Apr 2026 16:52Daniel, Apologies for the slow reply, it has been one of those days with the board pack. Thank you for the note. I'd be glad of the summary. The real question for me is the one you've already hinted at: is the brain something a handful of people lean on, or something the whole operations function has made part of how they work? If it is the former, then I want to know before I start discussing the renewal internally, not after. This week is hard for me. Friday afternoon is the only gap I can see, and even that is not certain. Could we look at the following Monday or Tuesday instead? Either would be fine, preferably after lunch. I would also like to ask my head of underwriting operations to join for part of it, if that works for you. He will have a much better feel than I do for what the team actually does with it. Best, Imogen
- Daniel Okafor 28 Apr 2026 19:18Imogen, No apology needed at all, board packs have a way of eating the week. Monday afternoon works well for me, so let's pencil that in, and I will send the invitation tomorrow morning with a time that suits you once you have looked at your diary. Do bring your head of underwriting operations along, I would be very glad to hear from him directly. It is often the person closest to the work who tells me the most useful thing in the whole meeting. I will put together the summary of questions asked and the sources behind the answers, and send it across the day before so you have a chance to read it first. If anything in it looks odd to you, tell me and we can look at it together rather than having it come as a surprise. Just to close the loop: Monday afternoon, a summary from me the day before, and your colleague joining for part of it. Is there anything else you would like me to cover? Best wishes, Daniel
