Internal draft proposal from Tom Ashdown, dated 16 Oct 2024, moving Brackwell Freight from Starter to Growth at £44,000 a year, replacing the Starter subscription. It is marked draft and not a final price. The evidence does not show it was issued.

What it is: a draft proposal, prepared by Tom Ashdown for internal review, to expand Brackwell from Starter to Growth. It says "Draft, for internal review before it goes to the customer".

Commits: nothing binding. The commercials table gives the annual subscription as "Forty-four thousand pounds", billed "Annually in advance, quarterly on request, thirty-day payment terms". The text states no availability, P1 response time or connector dates, only that Growth has a faster response and roughly double the connectors.

Unusual: the price and timing are open, and the text says "Nothing here is a final price until the order form is signed." The Starter term is stated to end on 30 Nov 2024, which the order form was meant to precede.

Not settled: whether the proposal was shared, accepted or superseded by an executed order form. It is nearly two years old at the as-of date, so check the executed paper before relying on it.

Body

Brackwell Freight Ltd - Proposal v1

Status: Draft, for internal review before it goes to the customer

Prepared for: Brackwell Freight Ltd Prepared by: Tom Ashdown, Account Executive, B-Brain Customer success manager: Marcus Bell Date: 16 Oct 2024 Version: one (draft)

Context

Brackwell Freight has been a B-Brain customer since 1 Dec 2023 on the Starter tier, with fifteen licensed users and a contracted annual recurring revenue of nineteen thousand five hundred pounds. The current term ends on 30 Nov 2024.

Brackwell runs road freight and contract warehousing for retailers from Trafford Park and five other depots. The brain was bought so that revenue operations and the depot account managers could see accounts, delivery-exception tickets and calls together, and spot at-risk retail contracts early.

It is being used. Activity across the account has grown by roughly half compared with the prior quarter, and the support picture is quiet: one ticket in the last month, with nothing overdue on the invoicing side. That is a healthy base from which to widen the footprint.

What we have heard

Read the whole document (4,597 characters)
  • The brain started with one team, and other teams have noticed what it does for the retail contract view.
  • Depot account managers want the same picture as revenue operations rather than relying on someone to pull it for them.
  • The renewal date is approaching, so this is a natural moment to look at the tier as a whole rather than renew as is.

Open point for review: Tom to check the wording of this section against his latest notes from the account team before it is shared.

Proposal in one paragraph

We propose that Brackwell moves from Starter to Growth as an expansion of the existing relationship. Growth is built for several teams rather than one, and it adds the dashboards builder and quarterly business reviews with Marcus. The Starter subscription would be replaced by Growth when the upgrade takes effect.

The brain continues to run inside Brackwell's own Snowflake account, so nothing about where the data lives changes.

Tom will confirm the exact figures, the timing of the switch-over and any one-off implementation work before an order form is issued. Nothing here is a final price until the order form is signed.

Why Growth, and why now

  1. More of the business can use it. The depot account managers are the obvious next group, and the Growth allowance gives room for them without counting heads.
  2. Dashboards. Teams that currently ask the same questions each week can build their own views and keep them.
  3. Rhythm. Quarterly reviews give Brackwell a regular point to see what the brain is worth and what to connect next.
  4. Timing. Moving at the renewal avoids running two commercial conversations in parallel.

Risks and things we will watch

  • Adoption needs an owner on the Brackwell side in each new team, otherwise the extra seats will sit idle.
  • Any new connectors need the source system owners in the room early, so that the live-by dates in the order form are realistic.
  • The jump from the current price is real, so the case needs to rest on what the teams are already getting from the brain.

Let's get something in the diary once the draft has been through review. Leave that with me.

Cheers, Tom
